I am a Consultant Haematologist practicing in London and Surrey.

I qualified as a doctor in Minsk, Belarus in 1996 and was awarded a PhD in Haematology/Biochemistry (St Petersburg, Russia) for research into the role of calprotectin (one of the proteins in white cells) in haematological conditions.

In 1997 I was very fortunate to be awarded the Royal Society Postdoctoral Fellowship to undertake research at the Leucocyte Adhesion Laboratory, Imperial Cancer Research Fund, London. I then decided to continue my medical career in Medicine/Haematology and have undergone training in major UK cancer centres, such as the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton; Christie Hospital, Manchester; University Hospital of Wales and Velindre Hospital, Cardiff.

My sub-speciality areas include lymphoma and coagulation disorders, however, most of the time in my busy NHS and private practices I spend treating patients with a wide variety of general haematological problems. I maintain close links with my colleagues at London teaching hospitals, and would not hesitate to guide a patient to the best national expert in the given area, if I think this would be beneficial for the patient.  I work closely with providers of home care, including chemotherapy at home - an option that some patients find most suitable for their needs.

I come from a family of Haematologists - both my father and my brother are Haematologists.
